Fence Built For The Long Run

Most of the fence we build runs for thousands of feet across open farm and horse property. That is where shortcuts show up fast. A line that wanders, a corner that was not braced right, a gate that drags after one season. We have built six miles of fence on a single property, and every foot of it had to stay straight and stay standing.

Farm Maintenance builds four board wood fence the way it was meant to be built. Posts set deep and true, lines pulled tight and level across the rise and fall of the land, corners and gate posts braced so they do not pull loose under the weight of a closing gate or a leaning steer.

What We Build

  • Four board and three board perimeter fence for farms and estates
  • Paddock and pasture cross fencing for horses and cattle
  • Entrance lines, gates, and braced corners that stay square
  • Board fence over woven wire for properties that need both

How We Build It

  • Posts set at the right depth for our soil so frost and weather do not heave them
  • Lines run straight by sight and string, not eyeballed off a truck
  • Boards fastened to last, not stapled up to look good on day one
  • Gates hung so they swing true and latch the same in July and January

Why Landowners Keep Calling Us

A fence is the first thing people see when they drive up your lane, and the last thing you want to think about once it is in. We build it once, build it right, and stand behind it. When the job runs long or the weather turns, we are still the crew that shows up and finishes the work the way we said we would.

Good Questions

Questions We Hear

How much does farm fence cost per foot?

It depends on the fence type, the length of the run, the terrain, and how many gates and corners are involved. We come out, walk the property, and give you a straight price with no surprises. Call (615) 207-9386 and we will set up a time to look.

What kind of fence do you build for horses?

Four board wood fence is the standard for horse property because it is visible, strong, and safe. We also run board fence over woven wire when you want the look of board with the containment of wire.

How deep do you set the posts?

We set posts at the depth our Middle Tennessee soil calls for so they hold through freeze and thaw and do not heave or lean. Corner and gate posts are braced so they stay square under load.

Do you build fence on hilly or wooded land?

Yes. Most farm property is not flat. We pull lines straight across rises, dips, and tree lines so the finished fence looks right and works right.

How long does a fence project take?

A short run can be a few days. A full property line of several thousand feet takes longer. We give you a timeline up front and keep you posted as we go.
